Masala on my mind is a venture founded by Lakshmi Hari, a mom, yoga teacher, and food enthusiast whose mission is to make shopping for Indian food as enjoyable as the food itself!
"As a first generation Indian American who moved to california over 2 decades ago, I always had a love-hate relationship with the Indian grocery store. The stores were always far away and purchases had to be carefully planned. Once you got to the store, you were greeted by spaces that were small, dingy, hard to navigate, and definitely not an environment that made for a memorable shopping experience. If you were new to Indian food or a non-Indian, the store experience was downright intimidating!"
Fast forward to 2022, not much has changed here. Meanwhile in India, there has been significant innovation with product offerings as well as elevated consumer experiences at retail and restaurants. I look forward to bringing this innovation and consumer experience to the US.
I created Masala On My Mind to showcase a modern, relevant, and engaging shopping experience for Indian food not just for people with Indian roots, but, for anyone who wants to embrace its bold flavors, healthy choices, and rich heritage
